This system is standard on all new Giulias. Very innovative, the one that goes by the name of Q4 AWD offers an extended level of driving confidence and superior control to drivers.

In fact, Alfa Romeo calls it an intelligent system. And it's easy to understand. The system constantly analyzes several driving parameters in order to distribute engine power to both axles in the most optimal way.

The active transfer gearbox and the front axle have been developed to offer instantaneous reactions to changing road conditions. So you're never caught off guard. In normal driving conditions, up to 100% of the torque is sent to the rear. In a situation where traction is required at the front, the Q4 system can transfer up to 60% of the power to the front, seamlessly behind the wheel.

What allows the system to be so effective is the presence of the vehicle's Chassis Domain Controller (CDC) and the vehicle's DNA or DNA Pro (Quadrifoglio version) driving modes. The latter are of course adjusted from within for an even more personalized experience. The CDC is the one that acts at lightning speed to adjust the Q4's settings.

The CDC also manages the traction and stability control, the torque vectoring differential and the optional Alfa Active suspension. Everything is programmed to provide a stable, predictable and engaged ride. As a driver, you quickly feel at ease with the vehicle because the systems are designed to make you feel comfortable.

It's surprisingly effective. This way, the car's power and capabilities can be used at all times, regardless of the conditions.
